Bashkir cultural exhibits planned at Ufa's Vatan park for SCO and BRICS summits

The Vatan ethnic culture park, featuring seven yurts, are set to open in front of the Congress Hall in Ufa ahead of the SCO and BRICS summits to offer participants a taste of the local culture and traditions.

One of the yurts features traditional chests, carpets, household items and other everyday objects used by the Bashkir people's ancestors, which are on loan from the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Another yurt showcases folk trades such as felting, woodcarving and kumis making. In the park, visitors can also learn about the minerals extracted in today's Bashkortostan and the region's nature, or try on traditional clothing.
