BRICS and SCO summits to take place in Ufa

On 8-10 July, the BRICS and SCO summits will take place in Ufa. Vladimir Putin will take part in the summits as head of the country currently holding the Presidency in these organisations.

The BRICS leaders will discuss political coordination and global governance, ensuring sustainable development, and expanding cooperation between the member countries. They will exchange views on the prospects for the New Development Bank and the Currency Reserve Pool. The Summit programme also includes outreach meetings between the BRICS leaders and members of the SCO and the Eurasian Economic Union, and a meeting with representatives of the BRICS Business Council. Mr Putin will meet separately with trade union leaders from the BRICS countries. A package of documents is expected to be adopted at the Summit.

Mr Putin will hold bilateral meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the BRICS and SCO summits.
