BRICS website goes online

The BRICS website will go live 10 July, Denis Tyurin, general director of the InfoRos news agency and one of the minds behind the BRICS virtual secretariat, said at a briefing in Ufa.

"The website is slated for launch after the Ufa summit. In other words, it will be up and running tomorrow," he said.

Speaking about the site's information sources, he said site administrators will be monitoring the media, and the most interesting articles will be represented in some form or other - either by linking or reposting.

There will not be a site administration centre. In keeping with the memorandum, each BRICS country will appoint an official to the board of governors, who will hold regular consultations in the form of online conferences or on the sidelines of various meetings, Mr Tyurin said.
