First BRICS Industrial Expert Council held in Moscow on 26-27 August

Industrial experts from the BRICS countries discussed the creation of mechanisms and methods for further developing multilateral industrial cooperation in the BRICS countries.

They have coordinated the documents that will be forwarded for signing at the first BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting in Moscow on 20 October 2015. The ministers plan to choose large joint projects to be implemented with potential funding from the BRICS New Development Bank.

During their two-day conference, the industry experts drafted a declaration of industry ministers and a memorandum on mining.

They also agreed to measures on further cooperation, including on expanding the multilateral format for BRICS interaction with other international organisations such as the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
