Russia and China plan a global precision navigation system for BRICS and SCO countries

Russian and Chinese scientists have proposed the design of a global precision navigation system for the BRICS and SCO countries based on Russia's GLONASS and China's BeiDou systems. A document to this effect has been approved at the second meeting of the China-Russia Strategic Cooperation Project Committee on Satellite Navigation in Moscow.

The project provides for the design, manufacturing and placement of Russian and Chinese ground-based instrumentation stations in the BRICS, SCO and any other country interested in joining this project.

According to experts from the Russian Space Systems, the implementation of this project will expand the use of global and regional satellite navigation systems in the interests of the BRICS and SCO countries and the international community as a whole.
