BRICS Agriculture Ministers adopt a Joint Declaration

A joint declaration was adopted following the Fifth Meeting of the BRICS Agriculture and Agrarian Development Ministers in Moscow. The document confirms the parties' readiness to provide food aid to the most vulnerable segments of the population, to expand the volume of mutual trade and investments, and to adopt measures to curb the negative impact of climate change on food security.

In addition, the Ministers stressed the need to exchange agricultural technologies and innovations, as well as current market information. The declaration also underscores the BRICS commitment to a sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and to achieving global food security.
