Moscow hosts BRICS seminar on single window

On 2 December 2015, Moscow hosted a BRICS seminar on single window designed to simplify trade formalities inside BRICS. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was one of the event's co-organisers.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between the five countries by easing commerce proceedings and reducing temporary costs during export-import transactions.

The participants discussed organisational and legal frameworks for creating and developing national single window mechanisms in the BRICS countries, with emphasis on business needs and the role of public-private partnerships. A separate session was devoted to the experience of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states in this area.

The results of the seminar will be used to prepare recommendations for the BRICS finance and foreign trade ministers, scheduled to meet next year.
